The USGA will be honoring Payne at the 2024 US Open in Pinehurst commemorating the 25th anniversary of his historic win at the storied venue. A special exhibit featuring the shirt and wind vest that he wore during the final round of the 1999 US Open will be on display at the USGA Golf House in Pinehurst. During the tournament, the iconic fist pump statue of Payne will be moved to the main entrance and fan experience area of the tournament for maximum viewing and Sunday patrons will be treated to a complimentary commemorative lapel pin that will be distributed at all entrances.
